The Winthrop P. Rock­e­feller Cancer In­sti­tute at the Univer­sity of Arkansas for Med­i­cal Sci­ences hosted a Day at the Races on March 20, invit­ing guests to en­joy a day of thor­ough­bred rac­ing, lunch and a silent auc­tion fea­tur­ing an orig­i­nal paint­ing cre­ated by Bob Snider. Spe­cial guests in­cluded Oak­lawn track an­nouncer Frank Mi­rah­madi and Oak­lawn track hand­i­cap­per Terry Wal­lace. The in­sti­tute is the state’s only aca­demic cancer cen­ter, and sees more than 140,000 pa­tient vis­its each year from across the coun­try.
