Hot Springs On The GO!
S ummer is officially in full swing. To me, summertime is inextricably linked to Hot Springs, and part of the reason for that is because, growing up, Hot Springs would become my second home while school was out. As a kid in Little Rock I would dream about taking that hour-long trip to a place where I could escape to lazy days spent on the lake but also a place I could cook up adventures with my siblings and friends.
In essence, the happiest memories of my childhood are from Hot Springs. This summer, you can bring out the kid in you by checking out some of the adventurous activities that Hot Springs offers. This issue, we’re highlighting some of the most fun and thrilling activities found in the area, such as ziplining, mountain biking and kayaking.
If you’re looking for something more relaxing but just as exciting, check out Garvan Woodland Garden’s Mystic Creatures exhibit, which will be on display until Aug. 31. Topiaries are made to look like fairytale creatures and magical beasts, and it’s truly a sight to see.
We’re also spotlighting the Miss Arkansas pageant, taking place June 15-21, where 46 lovely and talented ladies will compete to become the state’s representative at the Miss America pageant.
We’ve also added two new features in this month’s magazine — a home makeover and a fashion makeover — that we hope you enjoy.
Have a great summer. I hope it’s full of adventure, fun and magic.
