Hot Springs On The GO!

- Beth Bright Associate editor

There's something extra special about fall in Hot Springs. The crisp air of the season is perfect for going out on a hike and seeing the cascades of changing colors or strolling down Bathhouse Row, playing tourist in your own hometown.

This issue is devoted to staying healthy and active, which is perfect going into the holidays when second helpings are abundant at the dinner table.

On Nov. 8, host and Baron d'Abila Davis Tillman is sure to treat guests to a fabulous night of entertainment at the “Party of the Century,” celebrating 100 years of Levi Hospital. That same evening, Our Promise Cancer Resources will host its fourth annual tailgate at the Culinary District honoring cancer survivors in the community and the Young Men of Distinction.

And whether you enjoy taking a day trip in the saddle on any of the beautiful trails surrounding Hot Springs or taking a river cruise on the opposite side of the globe, we've got you covered.

By now, you've probably noticed that a new face is greeting you this issue. I'm a Hot Springs native through and through who returned home to the Spa City almost two years ago and, of course, I've been welcomed back with open arms.

I have a long history with this city as a graduate of Lakeside High School and granddaughter of the late “Shorty” Bennett, who started Bennett's Auto Service in 1946.

One thing I've always loved about living here is hearing from others how much they love our city. When visiting the places I love most, it's not uncommon to hear “You're from Hot Springs? That's our favorite weekend getaway!” It's a wonderful feeling to know that others love your hometown as much as you do.

So, with this new adventure as associate editor of your magazine, I'd like to thank you for having me back. It's great to be home and you will be seeing me around town, getting to know you all better.

See you soon,
