Hot Springs On The GO!
The holidays are a time for families to get together, reminisce about the past year and look forward to memories not yet made. But this time of year also marks that special time where friends act as family and mingle together in good spirits.
This issue is all about not only the holiday soirees our community is known for, but ways you can make your holiday festivities more special.
Taste of the Holidays, now in its 16th year treats guests to a night at Mid-America Science Museum with samplings of Hot Springs' finest eateries while incorporating science experiments with a holiday twist. This is the museum's biggest fundraiser and it is one you surely don't want to miss.
For those looking for a more relaxed atmosphere, the Downtown Chili Cook-off in the Exchange Street Parking Plaza will give patrons the chance to taste dozens of chilis prepared by teams throughout the community. The annual event has grown throughout the years to build the city's Christmas light display, making for a beautiful backdrop for all of Hot Springs' holiday festivities.
Lovers of the fine arts may look no further than the Muses Creative Artistry Project's annual “Voices of Angels” holiday concerts. With performances at the Muses Cultural Arts Center and Garvan Woodland Gardens' Anthony Chapel, the sounds of holiday classics through the ages will get everyone in the holiday spirit.
The holidays will be a little different for me this year with new family traditions being learned, adapted and made. But with exciting new chapters come more love and memories, and I hope you'll join me in wishing all those around us the best the season has to offer.
