Norris’ blast helps Lady Wolves win
PEARCY - Marleigh Norris’ two- run homer highlighted a four- run first inning as Lake Hamilton downed El Dorado 6- 3 Friday in Class 6A- South softball.
Norris homered with two outs, Kayla Bullard scoring after a leadoff single. Jessica Lingleback’s single and two errors led to two other runs.
Lingleback singled again in the third and scored on Madelyn Weatherford’s fielder’s- choice grounder for a 5- 0 lead.
El Dorado pulled to 5- 3 in the fifth on Hanna Caswell’s two- run double and Kaitlin Goul’s squeeze bunt. Ashleigh West doubled and scored on an error for Lake Hamilton ( 8- 5 in 6A- South) in the bottom half.
Lingleback and West went 2- for- 3, and Norris 2- for- 4. Caswell was 1- for- 3.
Norris and Madie Blancaflor held the Lady Wildcats to two hits, Norris pitching the first three innings. Blancaflor allowed one hit and struck out three in four innings.

LITTLE ROCK — University of Arkansas signee Josh Alberius pitched a two- hit shutout Thursday as Little Rock Christian pounded Hot Springs 9- 0.
The Warriors, jockeying with Central Arkansas Christian and Lakeside for a Class 5A tournament berth, scored three runs each in the second and fourth innings.
Kyle Rosburg and Matthew Westmoreland each singled off Alberius. Michael Webb ( 2- 4) took the loss, giving up three earned runs on seven hits while striking out three in six innings.
Hot Springs ( 4- 12, 0- 10) faced first- place Magnolia, the defending state champion, on Friday.
Junior Lady Wolves claim conference title
BENTON — Mallory Mixon set a meet record in the discus and London Martin, Katie Barker, Cassidy Turner and Breana Darnley won the 4x800- meter relay as Lake Hamilton took the Central Arkansas Conference junior girls’ championship here Saturday.
Mixon’s winning discus throw went 92 feet, 8 inches, and the Lady Wolves’ 4x800 team finished in 10: 30.61. Lake Hamilton scored 173 1/ 2 points, Cabot South placing second with 141.
Darnley was second in the 800 ( 2: 30.63) and 1,600 ( 5: 39.53), and April Smith, Kelli Suta, Brandy Scott and Luba Signorelli were second in the 4x100 relay ( 10: 30.61). Lake Hamilton placed third with Signorelli in the 200 ( 27.82), Victoria Anderson in the 400 ( 1: 04.5), Monet Bennett in the 800 ( 2: 36.08), Katie Welch in the pole vault ( 8- 0), Haley Saweikis in the long jump ( 152) and Martin, Suta, Scott and Signorelli in the 4x400 relay ( 4: 28.87).
