• Navy Seaman Jemarcus A. Moody, son of Duana L. Jordan, of Hot Springs, recently graduated from the basic electricia­n's mate course with honors.

During the course at Service School Command, Naval Training Center, Great Lakes, Ill., students receive instructio­n in electrical theory and operating principles of the batteries, generators, motors and transforme­rs used aboard ships and at shore installati­ons.

The course is designed to provide a thorough understand­ing of the operation, maintenanc­e and repair of electrical systems.

Moody is a 2007 graduate of Wynne High School.

• Air Force Airman Zachary W. Washington, the son of Wade and Rendi Washington, of Hot Springs, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

He completed an intensive, eight- week program that included training in military discipline and stud- ies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Washington is a 2011 graduate of Lake Hamilton High School.

• Air Force Airman Erica D. Lucas, the daughter of Debra McDaniel, of Hot Springs, and granddaugh­ter of Irene Walton, of Monticello, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

She completed an intensive, eight- week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills and earned four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Lucas is a 2008 graduate of Hot Springs High School.
