ASMSA/ Cisco golf event slated July 13 at HSCC
Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts will hold its sixth annual ASMSA/ Cisco golf tournament July 13 on the Park course of Hot Springs Country Club. Proceeds go toward completion of the library construction in the school’s new student center.
Registration for the fourman scramble begins at 8 a. m., followed by a shotgun start at 9 a. m. Early- bird registration, $ 400 per team or $ 100 per player, continues through June 29, late fees increasing to $ 500 and $ 125, respectively.. Entry fee in- cludes a round of golf, lunch and a gift bag.
Hole- in- one prizes are offered on all par- three holes and include two tickets to the 2013 U. S. Open ( No. 10), airfare and accommodations; two- round trip airline tickets anywhere in the continental United States ( No. 7); a four- day, threenight golf trip for two to Myrtle Beach, S. C. ( No. 15) and a set of Callaway Diablo Edge irons ( No. 3).
Prizes also go to the first-, second- and third- place teams and to long- drive and closest- to- the- pin contest winners. Sponsorship opportunites are available.

Bettering his 196 average by 104 pins, Malvern’s Harold Beason posted a 300 game on the last night of regular Classic League competition.
Steve Loyd, of Lafayette, La., rolled his eighth perfect game within a 748 series in Central’s Summer Junior- Adult League, meeting on Tuesday nights. He averages 223 and 216 in different leagues and has a career- high 798 series.
Rick Rowland, a Central bowler for 50 years and the bowling center’s manager, had a 300 game in a 763 series in the Tuesday- night league. His first of five sanctioned 300 games came in 1985. Rowland averages 206 and has career highlights including an 817 series, five 300 games, two 299s and a 298.
