Desoto Pool open for summer

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE – DeSoto Pool, located between DeSoto Golf Course and DeSoto Family Recreation Area, is now open for summer.

There are separate water areas for the swim tank, which is 3- 5 feet deep, the dive tank, which is 11 feet deep and features a diving board, and the wading pool. The pool area has loungers, umbrella- covered tables, shaded areas, a snack bar and a locker room facility with showers.

Open swim hours are as fol- lows: 11 a. m. to 7: 30 p. m. weekdays, May 28 through Aug. 10; 10 a. m. to 6 p. m. July 4; and 10 a. m. to 6 p. m. Sept. 3.

Saturday hours, from May 26 to Sept. 1, are 10 a. m. to 7: 30 p. m. Sunday hours, from May 27 to Sept. 6, are 1- 6 p. m.

Daily rates are $ 3.75 for POA members and $ 5.25 for guests. Children 6 years old and younger may swim for $ 1.50, for POA members, or $ 2 for guests. Individual season passes are $ 89.50 for POA members and $ 129 for guests. Family season passes are $ 178.50 for POA members and $ 249 for guests.

The pool is also available to rent for events such as birthdays, family reunions, and parties. Rental is during nonschedul­ed hours and includes lifeguards. The cost is $ 45.25 per hour for POA members and $ 60 per hour for guests with up to 30 people, with a $ 25 cleanup fee. There is a $ 10 fee for each 10 additional people.

Swim lessons are offered weekdays throughout the sum- mer and are taught by qualified instructor­s for children ages 1 and older. The fee, which is due at registrati­on, is $ 30 per child, per session. Children are placed in class levels depending on their swimming ability. Each class lasts one week. Classes are held from 9- 10 a. m.

Swim lesson sessions are as follows: session 1, ends today; session 2, Monday through Friday; session 3, June 25- 29; session 4, July 9- 13; session 5, July 16- 20; and session 6, July 23- 27.
