ARLINGTON, Texas — Jason Kubel and Gerardo Parra homered to back Daniel Hudson’s seven solid innings in Arizona’s victory over AL West- leading Texas.

The Diamondbacks scored one run while losing the first two games of the series, but led for good in the finale after Kubel’s two- run homer in the second off Scott Feldman ( 0- 6).

Parra’s three- run shot off reliever Tanner Scheppers capped a five- run sixth. Miguel Montero added a two- run homer in the ninth.

Hudson ( 3- 1) struck out a season- high seven without a walk only six days after the shortest start in his four major league seasons.

• Texas slugger Josh Hamilton was in the hospital Friday because with an intestinal virus. The Rangers said Hamilton was being given fluids because of a virus going around in his family. He was expected to be released within 12- 24 hours.

Outfielder Leonys Martin was recalled from Triple- A Round Rock and in the lineup for Friday night’s series opener against Houston. Martin was batting ninth and playing center field. To make room on the roster, the Rangers placed righthanded reliever Koji Uehara on the 15- day disabled list. Uehara’s move is retroactive to Sunday, a day after he strained a back muscle pitching at San Francisco.

Hamilton, second in the AL with a .330 batting average, is tied for the majors lead with 22 home runs and has a majorsbest 62 RBIs.
