Local students receive UCA scholarships
CONWAY – The University of Central Arkansas announced the following students have been awarded scholarships to attend the university.
Local residents included Ashley Brown, Lisa Deleon, Douglas Dorle, James Essner, Elliot George, Randi Guillory, Jessica Hale, Wesley Harris, Krystyna Hawley, Jordan Hawthorn, Haley Holmes, Ivana Ilic, Maiya Moua, Laken Parker, Parker Somerfield, Rachel Street and Samantha Taylor, all of Hot Springs; Christian Crumpton, of Hot Springs Village; Ethan Erwin, of Malvern; Alyssa Bryant, of Pearcy; and Kaitlyn Hill, of Royal.
Bryant received the Distinguished Scholarship for $ 34,000. Brown, Erwin, Essner, Hale, Harris and Hill received the Excellence Scholarship for $ 26,000.
Crumpton, Dorle, Hawley, Parker and Somerfield received the Achievement Scholarship for $ 20,000. Deleon, George, Guillory, Holmes, Moua and Street received the University Scholarship for $ 10,000. Hawthorn, Ilic and Taylor received the Leadership Scholarship for $ 1,500.
To qualify for any of the scholarships, a student must have a 3.25 grade point average in high school.
To qualify for a Distinguished Scholarship, a student must be a National Merit/ Achievement finalist or semifinalist and a 31- 36 ACT or 13601600 recentered SAT.
To receive the Excellence Scholarship, a student must have a 29- 30 ACT or 1290- 1350 recentered SAT. Eligibility requirements for the Achievement Scholarship are a 27- 28 ACT or 1210- 1280 recentered SAT.
A student must have a 24- 26 ACT or 1090- 1200 recentered SAT to receive the University Scholarship. Eligibility requirements for the Leadership Scholarship include a 23 ACT or 10501080 recentered SAT and a 3.25 cumulative high school GPA or top 10 percent of high school graduating class.
