Service ‘ above and beyond’

-

Dear editor:

Being frequent customers at the Wal- Mart on Central Avenue, we have met a service person, Jeffrey Kuhns, who would be an asset to any company. By “service,” we mean assisting anybody who needs it, whether they be handicapped, need a hand or just have a big shopping cartful to load in the trunk.

After an afternoon and evening of 100- ormore- degree temperatures in the parking lot, Jeffrey makes time to give an elderly lady a ride home with her groceries when he gets off work.

The reason we are singling this young man out from other workers with similar jobs is the contribution he makes to the community. The expression “random acts of kindness” comes to mind. He’s a hard worker who’s always smiling, welcoming customers and ready to go above and beyond the limitations of his job.

For example, I, Sandra Diedrich, am in a wheelchair and am usually pushed by my companion, Nancy Miles. I pick up a riding cart for the time we are in the store and our “hero” is almost always there to meet us right after we come through the checkout lane. I ride the cart to the car; he unloads the cart and her basket, goes around the car to help me get in, and returns to the store riding the cart and pulling the basket.

Personal service like this is difficult to find these days and we truly hope that the management appreciates his valuable contributions.

If you go to the Wal- Mart on Central when you’re in the area, stop and say hello to Jeff. He’ll make your day. Sandra Diedrich Nancy Miles Hot Springs
