LHHS graduates largest class ever in Brooks’ last year
PEARCY — Lake Hamilton High School held its 2013 commencement ceremony at 7: 30 p. m. Friday at Summit Arena for its largest graduating class ever in Vernon Brooks’ final year as the LHHS principal.
Brooks has been at Lake Hamilton since 1995 and the high school principal since 2000. Brooks announced his retirement earlier this year with Vice Principal Kirk Nance later being hired to fill the position.
“Graduation is always a tremendous memory,” Brooks said. “It’s where the end of the year and everything comes together. Being able to hand both of my kids their diplomas when they walked across the stage was an awesome feeling.”
The top two ranked students in the 2013 graduating class at Lake Hamilton are Blake Sanders and Jamie Stone. Sanders is the
son of Donna and Ed Sanders. Stone is the daughter of James and Susan Stone.
Highest Honor students were required to obtain all A’s and complete five or more Advanced Placement courses. Students who will graduate with Highest Honors are Sanders, Stone, John Dunn, Adam Larey, Jessica Larson, David Martin III, Connor McClure, Candace Boehm, Noel Wheeler, Ericka Vogel, Katherine Sargent, Madison Blancaflor, Lauren Barthel, Natalie Mason and Kaitlin Hood.
High Honor graduates required a 3.75 grade point average and three AP courses. High Honor graduates are Jordan Schroeder, Lauren Tilley, Clay Jessie, Zachary Sandlin, Caleb Marsh, Aundrea Allen, Abigail Little, Madison Buchanan, Kayla Bullard, Zebulun Jenkins, Robert Noble, Connor Rasmussen, Logan Scott- Kirchen, John Dutton, Jessica Hemund, Cory Leonhard, Austin Haight, Lindsey Mills, James Evans, Sarah Spears, Samuel Harvey, Grant Williams, Monica Norman, Denim Weatherford, Erin Kandlbinder, Joshua Ficut, James Morrison, John Adams, Easton Thomas, Kaitlyn Gibson, Jennifer Brockett, Samantha Wacaster, Meredith Beckowitz, Brooke Utley, Kyle Chandler, Emilian Cimuca, Sarah Garber, Daniel Mogovan and Marleigh Norris.
A 3.5 GPA and two AP courses were required for Honor graduates. Honor graduates this year are Keri Sanders, Ellise Harrison, Brittany Milloway, Theresa McCruden, Caina Cowart, Marissa Astin, Michael Miller, Ryan Baker, Alex Howell, Taylor Scott, Kali Bradshaw, Brianna Hansen, Julia Ross, Kaitlyn Mirdo, Tanner Kelley, Taylor Graves, Shianne Stephens, Gabriel Collins, Logan Ethridge, Jeri Lyn Robin, Marissa Anaya, Rachel Harvey and Gavin Delossantos.
