Goodman returns to Village
HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE – Ken Goodman will return to Hot Springs Village with a concert at 7 p. m. Aug. 2 at Woodlands Auditorium.
The event is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Greater Hot Springs Village, and proceeds will be used to support area children’s programs.
This year’s show is entitled “More than a Song – An out of this World Musical Experience.” The show will feature nostalgic songs and Broadway melodies, with Goodman’s familiar humor and outgoing personality included. The Kiwanis Club will present its six 2013 scholarship winners prior to the start of the concert.
Tickets are available from any GHSV Kiwanis member from 9 a. m. to 2 p. m. weekdays at the Woodlands office, or the Hot Springs Village Property Owners’ Association website.
After three years of entertaining at his Vienna Theatre in downtown Hot Springs, Goodman closed the business.
“We had a wonderful time, but it’s time to turn the page,” he said.
He now serves as a full- time hospice chaplain, but continues to entertain.
The Vienna Theatre was selected as the No. 1 Entertainment Venue last year.
“I learned so much, gained confidence as an entertainer, and fell deeper in love with the magic of live entertainment,” Goodman said. “And I’m extremely excited to join the GHSV Kiwanis Club for a third year to bring that magic to the Village for a great cause.”
Without the responsibilities of the theater, the Goodmans said they have more time for enjoying family time, and now live in Hot Springs Village on Lake Pineda.
“We love the area, of course, and the Village is a wonderful place to call home,” he said.
