A local man was arrested for battery late last Thursday for allegedly attacking his live- in girlfriend and stomping on her chest.

Michael William Heindl, 36, who lists an address of 148 Longbeach Circle, was taken into custody at his residence shortly before midnight and charged with third- degree domestic battery, a misdemeanor punishable by up to one year in jail.

He remained in custody Tuesday in lieu of $ 1,000 bond and is set to appear Aug. 15 in Garland County District Court.

According to the report, around 11: 15 p. m., Garland County sheriff’s Deputy Richard Huffman was dispatched to a disturbance in progress in a vehicle in front of 148 Longbeach Circle.

When he arrived, he was met by the victim, 42, who stated her boyfriend, identified as Heindl, had punched out a window in her house and, when she tried to leave, threw her on the ground and stomped on her chest with his boot.

She states when she got back up to leave again, he punched her in the left eye and then punched out a window in her car. Huffman noted the victim had a bruise to her right arm, swelling and a bruise to her left eye and redness to her chest.

Huffman and GCSD Deputy Kenny Ford, who had arrived to assist, went inside the residence after the victim unlocked the front door and found Heindl passed out in bed.

The report notes both the suspect and victim were “very intoxicated” and Heindl was unable to give a statement at the time of his arrest.

LifeNet responded and checked the victim out and then Heindl was transported to National Park Medical Center for evaluation. He was booked into the detention center shortly before 6: 30 a. m. Friday.
