WWC to meet Wednesday at HSCC
Women’s Welcome Club welcomes women having moved to the Hot Springs area within the last two years to join them at 11: 30 a. m. Wednesday at Hot Springs Country Club for its social luncheon and business meeting. This is a way to make new women friends and participate in a social and philanthropic club.
A social gathering begins at 10:30 a.m. The $15 luncheon will be followed with Bridge and Hand and Foot card games from approximately 1-3 p. m. Member Dee Oates will speak of her life experiences.
Hand and Foot Canasta is played at 10 a. m. the third Wednesday of the month at its new location of West Shores Retirement Community, 2607 Albert Pike Road.
Last month, Diane White spoke to Women’s Welcome Club on the history and importance of the club’s Emergency Room toys project last month.
She spoke of her years of service with ER Toys and what goes into making them. These are stuffed animals that are made with love from women in the group and given to children who come to the ER in Hot Springs.
Mothers of these children say the toys give their children comfort and courage at a stressful time in their lives. The group meets at 1 p. m. Wednesdays at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 3819 Central Ave. For information about ER Toys, call White at 767- 0812.
