Mary Lou Adkins

Mass of Christian burial for Mary Lou Adkins, 84, of Hot Springs, who died Monday, Oct. 5, 2015, will be celebrated at 10 a. m. today at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with the Rev. James West officiatin­g.

Burial will be 2 p. m. in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Mena.

Pallbearer­s will be Donald Ottoson, John Ottoson, Nathan Wells, Eric Ottoson, Tony Singleton, Jason Singleton and Michael Stover.

Arrangemen­ts are by Caruth- Hale Funeral Home.

Carl N. Bradshaw

AMITY — The service for Carl N. Bradshaw, 89, of Amity, who died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, will be held at 10 a. m. Saturday in Davis- Smith Funeral Home chapel, Glenwood, with Brother Keith Howell officiatin­g.

Visitation will be 6- 8 p. m. today at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Alpine Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s will be Randy Smith, Ricky Smith, Jody Howell, Seth Howell, Cody Cox and Tiffany Bugaj.

Honorary pallbearer­s are the nurses and staff of Dierksen Hospice and Dr. Ferdinand Roda.

Billie Jo Melton Chapman

NICEVILLE, Fla. — Billie Jo Melton Chapman, 83, of Niceville, Fla., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Oct. 6, 2015.

B. J. was a retired executive at AT& T and an active member of First Baptist Church, Niceville. She was a feisty woman who traveled the world without fear and always enjoyed time with her family and many church friends.

B. J. was born July 17, 1932, to the Rev. Joseph Melton and Dora Meredith Melton, in Buckville, Ark.

She is survived by one brother, R. D. Melton, of Hot Springs; and several close nieces, Jeri Ray, Judy Thomas, Brenda Manning, Marilyn Wipf and many other nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her siblings, Olive, Eugene, Vira, Emma and Estalene.

She has now gone to join her beloved husband, F. L. Chapman, leaving behind five loving children, Cecilia Shepherd ( David), Joseph Chapman ( Deborah), Catherine Chapman, Vicki Taylor ( David) and Cheryl Bennett ( Ty). She will by missed by her grandchild­ren, Chris and Jennifer Shepherd, Kevin Chapman, Seth Chapman, Daniel and Jarah Taylor and Ty Bennett; and her great- grandchild­ren, William and Lauren Shepherd and Trenton and Hadley ( deceased) Taylor.

There will be a visitation from 1- 2 p. m. today at the First Baptist Church of Niceville. A funeral service will begin at 2 p. m. today at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Niceville Building Fund.

A celebratio­n of life for the Rev. Cecil Harvey Hays, 67, of Hot Springs, who died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, will be held at 2 p. m. today in DavisSmith Funeral Home chapel, Hot Springs, with Pastor Ian Kumpe officiatin­g and the eulogy given by Charles Timm.

Burial will be in Morning Star Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s will be Tim Rash, Charles Timm, Mike Jackson, Tommy Holt, Brent Lackey and Kenneth Brown.

Honorary pallbearer­s are Danny Bradley, Aaron Stepp and Casey Jackson.

Melvin W. Jones

A memorial service for Melvin Wayne Jones, 44, of Hot Springs, who died Friday, Oct. 2, 2015, will be held 10 a. m. today at Ebenezer Baptist Church with minister Mark McGraw officiatin­g. The body will be cremated. Arrangemen­ts are with Carrigan Memorial Funeral Services.

Frankie H. Martin

Frankie H. Martin, 86, of Hot Springs, passed away Oct. 6, 2015.

He was born Aug. 22, 1929, in Clarksvill­e, to Clyce and Floy Martin.

Frankie was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Martin; brother, Jerry Martin; and stepson, Peanut Black.

Loving survivors include his brothers, Willard Martin ( Linda) and Tom Martin ( Penny); grandchild­ren, Pete Black ( Sara), Tina Chapman ( Greg), Allen Black ( Madeline), Shelley Kitchens and Michael Black; great- grandchild­ren, Nikki, Dustin, Hannah, Brittany, Shelby, Savannah, Joseph, Lillyan, Emily, Haleigh, Noah, Jonathan, Jacob and Jayden; and great- great- grandchild, Penelope.

A service will be held 1 p. m. today at Caruth Village Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Reid and Brother Jimmy Turner officiatin­g.

Pallbearer­s will be Tommy Reynolds, Ricky and Donnie Garrett, Pete, Allen and Michael Black.

Honorary pallbearer­s will be James and Lonnie Patman, Kenneth Larkin, Jr. Garrett, and Mark, Gary and Terry Martin.

A special thanks to Frankie’s sister- in- law, Joyce Garrett, and friend, Mary Ward, for being so loving to our grandfathe­r.

Robert S. McMichael

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — Robert S. McMichael, 88, of Hot Springs Village, passed away Oct. 8, 2015.

He was born Nov. 6, 1926, in San Francisco, Calif., to the late Robert Livingston and Evelyn Fogarty McMichael. Robert enjoyed horses, playing golf and the San Francisco 49ers.

Other than his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Teddy McMichael.

Survivors are daughter, Susan Watkins ( William), of Hot Springs; son, William McMichael ( Mona), of Pell City, Ala.; six grandchild­ren, and a host of great- grandchild­ren.

A memorial service for William “Bill” Howard Staton Jr., 75, of Hot Springs, who died Aug. 3, 2015, will be held at 10 a. m. Saturday at Grand Avenue United Methodist Church.

Charles E. Usry

PEARCY — Charles E. “Bubba” Usry, 80, of Pearcy, died Sunday, Oct. 4, 2015.

He was born on Sept. 23, 1935, in Bennington, Okla., the son of Oscar Elmer Usry and Zelma Irene McPherson Usry. On Dec. 19, 1995, he was married to Juaquina L. Bridgewate­r.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Eugene Usry.

Bubba was a U. S. Air Force veteran. He worked for 31 years for the U. S. Postal Service and retired as postmaster. He was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 380.

He is survived by his wife, Juaquina L. Usry, of Pearcy; his mother- in- law, Betty Davis; one stepdaught­er, Crystal and Scott Havener; one stepson, Anthony P. Bridgewate­r; four grandchild­ren, Austin, Hanna, Tyler and Samantha; and one stepbrothe­r, Roy Rogers.

Graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a. m. Monday in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Roland Adcock officiatin­g.

Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Davis- Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

CADDO GAP — The service for Ruby Faye Wright, 78, of Caddo Gap, who died Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, will be held at 10 a. m. today in Davis- Smith Funeral Home chapel, Glenwood, with Brother Robbie Loudermilk officiatin­g.

Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, near Caddo Gap.

Pallbearer­s will be Tim Mitchell, Gary Holmes, Lloyd “Smitty” Smith, Roger Davis, Tommy Smith and Kenny Thomas.

Honorary pallbearer­s are the staff and residents of Montgomery County Assisted Living and Montgomery County Nursing Home.
