Street closings announced for Spa Running Festival

Downtown streets will be closed to through traffic on a rotating basis as the Spa Running Festival progresses through various race routes on Saturday.

Street sections will be closed as runners approach and will reopen after runners exit the closed section of roadway. Convention Boulevard, from Palm Street to Malvern Avenue, will be closed from 5:30 a.m. until 11 a.m.

The following half-marathon street closings beginning at 7 a.m.:

• 7-7:15 a.m. — Malvern Avenue from Convention Boulevard to Spring Street.

• 7-8:45 a.m. — Northbound outside lane of Central Avenue from Spring Street to Whittington Avenue.

• 7:40-9:45 a.m. — One lane of westbound Whittington Avenue from Central Avenue to Woodfin Street; Whittington Avenue from Woodfin Street to Skyview Terrace; one lane of eastbound Whittington Loop to West Mountain Drive.

• 8:10-10 a.m. — One lane of Prospect from West Mountain Drive to Pecan Street; Pecan Street from Prospect Avenue to Flint Street; Quapaw Avenue between Flint and Fern streets.

• 8:10-10 a.m. — One lane of Quapaw Avenue between Flint and Market streets.

• 8:15-10:15 a.m. — One lane of Market Street from Quapaw Avenue to Broadway Street.

• 8:15-10:30 a.m. — One lane of Broadway Street from Market Street to Malvern Ave. and onto Convention Boulevard.

The following 10K street closings will begin at 7:45 a.m.:

• 8-8:30 a.m. — Malvern Avenue from Convention Boulevard to Spring Street, then the northbound outside lane of Central Avenue from Spring Street to Whittington Avenue.

• 8:05-8:30 a.m. — One lane of westbound Whittington Avenue from Central Avenue to Woodfin Street; one lane of eastbound Whittington Avenue from Woodfin Street to West Mountain Drive.

• 8:20-9 a.m. — One lane of Prospect from West Mountain Drive to Pecan Street; one lane of Pecan Street from Prospect Avenue to Flint Street; one lane of Flint Street from Pecan Street to Quapaw Avenue; one lane of Quapaw Avenue between Flint and Market streets.

• 8:30-9:30 a.m. — One lane of Market Street from Quapaw Avenue to Broadway Street; one lane of Broadway Street from Market Street to Malvern Avenue.

The following 5K Street closings begin at 7:45 a.m.:

• 7:45-8:15 a.m. — Malvern Avenue from Convention Boulevard to Spring Street.

• 8-8:15 a.m. — Broadway Street from Malvern Avenue to Market Street.

• 8-8:30 a.m. — Market Street between Central and Quapaw avenues.

• 8:05-8:30 a.m. — One lane of Quapaw Avenue between Market and Fern streets.

• 8:15-8:30 a.m. — One lane of Fern Street from Quapaw Avenue to Pecan Street; one lane of Pecan Street between Fern and Flint streets.

• 8:25-9 a.m. — One lane of Flint Street from Pecan Street to Quapaw Avenue.

• 8:30-9:30 a.m. — One lane of Quapaw Avenue between Flint and Market streets; one lane of Market Street between Quapaw Avenue and Broadway Street; one lane of Broadway Street from Market Street to Malvern Avenue.

The following closure will take place for the 1K Kids Fun Run, which begins at 9:45 a.m.:

• 9:30-10:15 a.m. — Palm Street from Convention Boulevard to Spring Street.
