Oaklawn Racing & Gaming announces December schedule

Oaklawn Racing & Gaming will be in the holiday spirit throughout the month of December as the excitement builds for the one-year anniversary of its expanded gaming area and the upcoming 2016 live race meet.

Guests are welcome to visit and see the festive decorations throughout the gaming area.

Oaklawn rings in 2016 with a grand New Year’s Eve celebration, complete with a prime rib dinner in Lagniappe’s Grill and a $7,500 free play drawing from 8 p.m. to midnight. Dinner will be served from 5-11 p.m. for $22.95 for Winners Circle members and $26.95 for nonmembers. In addition, there will be live entertainment in the Silks Bar & Grill and Pop’s Lounge.

During the first three Thursdays of the month, Oaklawn will offer the FaLa-La-La Lotta Free Play Frenzy from 6-10 p.m. Winners will be called every

15 minutes and will be playing for their share of $7,500 in Free Play.

The popular “12 Days of Christmas” promotion returns Dec. 12-23, and the prizes will include a new washer and dryer, Apple MacBook Air, a cruise and several of the top gaming systems including Microsoft Xbox “One Madden NFL 16” bundle. Patrons wishing to participate must submit a valid email address at the Winners Circle desk.

Oaklawn’s Reel Tournaments continue in December with the $1,500 Two Minute Drill Tournament on Sundays starting at 2 p.m. and the $2,000 Mad Money Tournament on Tuesdays. Players just need to have earned the qualifying points to participate.

Oaklawn remains the headquarters for everything football throughout December and fans can watch their favorite college teams in their conference championships and throughout the Bowl season. On Sundays, there will be $2 drafts from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and fans can watch their NFL teams go head-to-head, and compete in the Gridiron Challenge. Free tacos and $2 drafts will be served in Pop’s Lounge from 6 p.m. to halftime during the Monday night game and another chance at the Gridiron Challenge will be available. All games will also be available in Silks Bar & Grill, recently voted the Best New Bar in Arkansas.

Lagniappe’s offers a barbecue special where guests can choose from either chicken or brisket every Wednesday from 5-10 p.m.

Steak Night is every Friday from 5-10 p.m. and guests can enjoy a steak voted one of the best in Hot Springs or, if they prefer, the catch of the day.

Oaklawn’s live race meet opens Jan. 15 and reserved seats for the 2016 racing season will be available starting Nov. 23. Seats may be purchased weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. by calling 800-Oaklawn, ext. 340.
