-

Who is Jason Brown?

I was born and raised in Sheridan, where I graduated from Sheridan High School in 1999. After attending Louisiana Tech, I purchased and ran a restaurant franchise with several locations. In 2007, I sold the restaurants and went in to the insurance business.

I currently reside in Little Rock with my wife and son, but have property close to Lake Ouachita where we plan to build a home.

I serve on the Bryant Boys & Girls Club Board of Directors, as a director and former chairman of the Bryant Area Chamber of Commerce, and as the chairman of the board of the Hot Springs Village Area Chamber of Commerce. I am a member of the Hot Springs Village Evening Lion’s Club, and a member of The Church of Rock Creek.

What one experience in your life really defined you?

The birth of my son, Gabriel. We have a great relationship not only as father and son, but as best buddies. Watching him grow in to such a wonderful and caring young man gives me so much pride. I’ve shared with him the values and morals that my father taught me.

What do you love about Hot Springs Village and Hot Springs?

There is so much history and growth potential for Hot Springs Village and the Hot Springs area without losing the hometown feeling. Since I love the outdoors both areas offer many activities that are right in line with the things I enjoy doing.

What do you enjoy doing for fun and relaxation?

There’s nothing more enjoyable than being with my son Gabriel diving, spear fishing and exploring local lakes or when we are sitting in a deer stand enjoying nature while waiting on that big buck to walk out.

Tell us something few people know about you.

Very few people know that I am the founder of the only Duct Tape Boat Race in the United States and we just had our 5th year of racing at the Bryant Area Chamber of Commerce’s Fall Fest Event in September. What makes this race unique is the only materials that can be used are duct tape and PVC pipe. That includes the construction of the boat and the paddles!

Where do you see Hot Springs Village and Hot Springs 20 years from now?

In 20 years, I see Hot Springs Village and Hot Springs as one of the greatest and most sought after destinations in the central United States. Both cities will grow more in tourism, be more appealing to a younger demographic, and not just a retirement area.
