Lois R. McClard

Lois Rosalee McClard, 95, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016.

She was born Nov. 4, 1920, to Roy and Hattie Johnson.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, J.D. McClard, and her son, Joe McClard Jr.

Lois loved life and nothing made her happier than spending time with her family. She was involved in the daily lives of all her children, six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-greatgrandchild, never missing a birthday or important event in their lives.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and John Thomason; one son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Linda McClard; daughterin-law, Dolores McClard; and a sister, Janice Thomas.

The family wishes to thank Lois’ wonderful caregivers, Dixie Abbott, Jenny Olson, Cindy Eifert and Sherri Olalde and Arkansas Hospice. We especially thank her devoted granddaughter, Micah Castleberry, who, by setting her own needs aside, kept a constant vigil over her Mamaw.

Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. Sunday followed by a celebration of her life in CaruthHale Funeral Home Chapel with nephew Randy Thomas officiating.

A private family interment will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Scott McClard, Kyle McClard, Austin Moss, Kendall Moss, Jonathan Lanehart, Justin Wallace, Mike Moss, Ty Lanehart and Jason Castleberry.

Honorary pallbearers are Bill and Hillary Clinton, Dr. James Humphreys, Dr. Lance Porter, Dr. Thomas Wallace and all employees of McClard’s BarB-Que.

In honor of Papaw and Joe, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Arkansas at 201 Markham Center, Little Rock, AR 72205 or to Central Baptist Church in Hot Springs
