Clarence W. Hill

-

Clarence W. Hill, of Hot Springs, entered this world on Nov. 21, 1924, and took his Heavenly flight to Beulah Land on Aug. 24, 2016.

A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he served in the Pacific campaign and was awarded the Purple Heart. After the war, he began serving the Lord, sharing the victory in Jesus through his many gifts of song, music, humor, humbleness and love.

Clarence was a music evangelist for 22 1/2 years, sharing the Gospel to many churches in Arkansas and surrounding states. He also was the minister of music for over 60 years at several churches, proudly proclaiming, “God is good all the time, all the time, God is good.” His love for the Lord and people went hand in hand, as he witnessed to countless souls, helping many accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

He is patiently waiting at Heaven’s gate for his sunshine of 40 years, Joy Hill; his sister, Rachel Sullivan, of Tennessee; his children, Kay Riley, Paula (Bob) McCauley, Sandy (Tommy) Spalding and Larry (Sharon) Spalding; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

Those who were there to greet him in Heaven were his parents, Jodie and Minnie Hill; his first wife, Norma Geurin Hill; and his siblings, Sam Hill, Ruby Rowan, Ralph Hill, Leroy Hill, Loyce Hill, Horace Hill and Rosella Barrett.

Visitation was held 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Harvey’s Chapel Baptist Church.

Burial with military honors will be held at Little Rock National Cemetery at noon today with memorial services following at 3 p.m. at Harvey’s Chapel Baptist Church.
