Nella F. Adams
KIRBY — Nella Fae Adams, age 79, of Kirby, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017.
She was born on May 23,
1937, in Amity, the daughter of Lawrence Valentine Daniel and Gladys Runyan Daniel. On June 22, 1956, she was married to Horace Adams. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Susan Stacie Adams; and her brother-in-law, Max Adams.
A 1955 graduate of Amity High School, she was salutatorian of her class and attended Amity First Baptist Church. She was an excellent cook and seamstress, a hard worker and very organized in everything she did, enjoyed fishing, traveling Arkansas, making flower arrangements and crocheting. She adored her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Horace Adams, of Kirby; two daughters and sons-in-law, Becky (Joseph David) Cogburn, of Caddo Gap, and Beverly (Wade) Whisenhunt, of Amity; one son, Daniel Adams, of Glenwood; nine grandchildren;
10 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Laverne Hawkins, of Glenwood, Twyla (Travis) Buck, of Arkadelphia, and Vicki (Bob) Winnes, of McCaskill; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 11, 2017, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home chapel, Glenwood, with Brother John McAnally and Brother Jack Herring officiating.
Visitation will be held from
6-8 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in the Sweet Home Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Walker, Gregory Walker, Christopher Whisenhunt, Brady Adams, Cody Winnes, Jarrod Ryan, Troy Buck and Adam Buck.
Honorary pallbearers will be Barbara Taylor, JoAnn Herring, Martha May and the 1955 Class of Amity High School.

Virginia Condon
Virginia Condon gained her wings on May 5, 2017.
She was born on Jan. 31, 1930, to Stella (Chojnacki) and Joseph Heagney in Chicago, Ill.
Virginia was preceded in death by her first husband, James Kervin and Robert Condon, her parents and her children, JoAnn Kervin and Timothy Kervin.
She is survived by her three children: Patrick (Nancy) Kervin, Barbara (John) Torres and Michael Kervin; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and her sister, Josephine Kuffel.
The family would like to thank Dettrany Wiseman for many years of compassion, love and devoted care for our mother.
She gained her wings in Hot Springs, Ark., but previously resided in Bensenville, Ill., for about 40 years.
She was a loving and caring woman with a laugh that would light up a room. She will be truly missed by many. Rest in peace Mom … dance with the angels!
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

A celebration of life for Robert “Bob” Deist, 78, of Hot Springs, who died May 5, 2017, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with Pastor John McCallum will officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time.

Margaret L.T. Glasgow
Margaret Lucille Tucker Glasgow, age 84, of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord Saturday, May 6, 2017.
She was born on Sept. 10, 1932, in Oma, the daughter of N.B. Tucker and Ethel Southerland Tucker. She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sons, Greg Glasgow and Randy Glasgow.
She was a faithful member of Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Mark Anthony Glasgow, of Hot Springs; one brother, Mike Tucker, of Pearcy; and three sisters, Wilma Lee, of Pearcy, Betty Sanders, of Pearcy, and Patricia Robbins, of Bonnerdale.
Interment will be in Oma Cemetery.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

Joseph G. Hicks Sr.
BIG CREEK COMMUNITY — Joseph Gordon Hicks Sr., age 75, of the Big Creek Community, died Saturday morning, May 6, 2017.
He was born on Dec. 7, 1941, in Malvern, to the late Lawrence Hicks Sr. and Louella Cunningham Hicks. Reared and educated in Poyen, he was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in Japan. Joe was manager for West’s Department Store for over 20 years, and retired from Van-Atkins Department Store in 2000. Joe loved the outdoors. He enjoyed working his land and going to his cabin. A serious genealogist, he tirelessly traced his family’s roots and freely shared the history he learned. Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. An animal lover, he doted on his little dog, Millie. Joe was a true and faithful friend.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Sparks Hicks, to whom he was married on Aug. 15,
1966, in Harrison, Ark.; his daughter, Diane Austin and her husband, Steve, of Poyen; his son, Joseph G. Hicks Jr. and his wife, Tricia, of Hot Springs; his grandchildren, Jeff Austin (Katie), Jaci Alston (Caleb), Zach and Zoie Hicks; his great-grandchildren, Zane Austin, Luke Austin, Joseph Miller, Driver Austin and Emery Alston.
Joe was also preceded in death by his sisters, Belva Jean Hicks and Sarah Hicks Helms, and a brother, Lawrence Hicks Jr.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. today, May 9, 2017, in the chapel of J.A. Funk Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Dunlap officiating. Interment will follow in Big Creek Cemetery with military honors.
