We have a senior care and safety check program, a free service for seniors and homebound persons within Garland County. You or a loved one simply fills out a registration form containing information about you, what specific time you would like to be called, names of loves ones or neighbors you would want to respond if an emergency existed (preferably someone with a key to your residence). Our system can schedule your calls anywhere from 5 a.m.8:55 p.m. You can choose the times in five-minute intervals, such as 7:15 a.m. or 1:25 p.m. You may also choose the days of the week to be called. Every day abused, neglected and abandoned children are removed from their homes at no fault of their own in Garland County. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children recruits, trains and supports community volunteers to advocate for the best interests of these children. Empowered by the courts, CASA Advocates off judges the critical information they need to ensure that each child’s rights and needs are being attended to while in foster care. The time commitment is a few hours a week for about a year.

An organization dedicated to bringing joy and smiles to nursing home residents. We use our temperament-tested dogs and visit nursing homes, where most residents have had pets sometime in their life. We also participate in day care visits, library presentations, park district programs, etc. Our volunteers are all ages, men and women.

The National Park Medical Center Auxiliary has been serving the Hot Springs community since 1954. These devoted men and women volunteer their time throughout the hospital for as little as four hours per week. Not only do they provide a selfless service to their community, they build lasting relationships and have a lot of fun. 71901. Call 501-620-1238. National Park Medical Center’s Senior Care Center is a specialized unit for the care of geriatric patients requiring behavioral health care within the hospital. The Senior Care Center is specifically designed for patients ages 65 and older who have an emotional illness. The Family Caregiver Workshops are designed to increase family member’s knowledge of caregiving and to introduce them to caregiving skills needed to care for an older adult in the home. Information on caregiver resources is also provided. Alzheimer’s and Dementia Training provide instruction on how to provide support and care for a person with dementia.
