Mid-America Science Museum announces scholarshi­p winner

Mid-America Science Museum recently announced that this year’s college scholarshi­p will be presented to Haley Riggs.

A Fountain Lake Charter High School senior, Riggs plans to pursue a science-related degree in Marine Biology and is currently a Team Tesla volunteer at Mid-America Science Museum, a news release said.

Guests will have the opportunit­y to meet Riggs and her family during Taste of the Holidays at Mid-America Science Museum from 6-9 p.m. Thursday following a special VIP reception for sponsors and honorees. Riggs will also be assisting educators with fun science-related experiment­s throughout the evening as guests enjoy food and drinks from more than 20 vendors from around the state.

Presented by TLI Print, Oaklawn Racing & Gaming, Mid-South Engineerin­g and Tri-Lakes Liquor, this year’s Taste of the Holidays will feature live musical performanc­es by Jacob Flores and DJ Courier Coleman and will include a premium silent auction with items ranging from a romantic eightday trip for two up the Danube River courtesy of Viking River Cruises to tickets to Disney World and Graceland.

This year’s vendors include Ambrosia Bakery, Arkansas Beverage, Belle Arti Italian Ristorante, The Porterhous­e Steak & Seafood, Bleu Monkey Grill, Bliss, Don Juan Mexican Bar & Grill, Higdon Square Cafe, JV Farm, Kilwins Hot Springs, La Hacienda Mexican Restaurant, Mountain Valley Spring Water, The Next Level Kitchen, Red Light Roastery Coffee House, Sam’s Club, Silks Bar and Grill, Stubby’s BBQ , Superior Bathhouse Brewery, Taste of India, Tri- Lakes Liquor, Wingstop, and LongHorn Steakhouse.
