Seals collect 14 first-place finishes in Clarksville
CLARKSVILLE — Team members of the Hot Springs Family YMCA Seals swim team won first place in a 14 events, among a number of other top finishes, during their latest meet in Clarksville.
Noah Smith and Audrey Simons won the high-point awards for their respective age divisions.
Smith took first place in the
200-meter butterfly, 400-meter individual medley and the
500-meter freestyle for the
15-and-over men’s division. He also finished second in the
100-meter breaststroke and the
200-meter backstroke. Simons won first place in the 50-meter freestyle, 50-meter backstroke and 50-meter butterfly in the 8-and-under girls division. She placed second in the
50-meter breaststroke and the
100-meter individual medley. Fellow 8-and-under girls swimmer Lily Cook finished first in the 25-meter breaststroke, 100-meter breaststroke and 100-meter freestyle. She placed fifth in the 50-meter backstroke.
Ethan Smith collected first place in the 200- and 400-meter individual medley events for boys ages 13-14. He finished second in the 500-meter freestyle, third in 200-meter backstroke and sixth in the 50-meter freestyle.
Emma Crowe on three events for girls ages 11-12. She won the 50-meter backstroke,
50-meter butterfly and 100-meter individual medley races. She also finished second in the
50-meter freestyle and third in the 100-meter breaststroke.
Claire Hudnell placed fifth in the 100-meter backstroke, seventh in the 100-meter freestyle, eighth in the 50-meter backstroke and eighth in the
50-meter breaststroke for the same division. Abigail Steele took seventh place in the
100-meter individual medley and Whitley Terry took seventh in the 200-meter freestyle. The team took fourth place in the
200-meter medley relay. Lily Shields also took fifth place in the 50-meter butterfly for the 10-and-under girls division.
