Lakeside boys earn state bowling championship
LOWELL — Lakeside’s boys’ bowling team won the 4A-5A state tournament Wednesday behind three All-State performances.
Landon Gray, Hunter Rhodes and Tyson Keeney each earned All-State as Lakeside finished with a total pin count of 3,754 at Fast Lanes Entertainment in Lowell, outside of Rogers.. Ben Larimore missed All-State honors by just four pins.
Elijah Felling of Hot Springs, was the second-place All-State medalist with a 630 series of games of 202, 258 and 170. Felling was the top overall bowler with a series of 633 in the 4A-5A West conference tournament at Professor Bowl West in Little Rock.
Larimore led Lakeside to a second consecutive 4A-5A West conference title. He bowled 535 Wednesday in Lowell with games of 128, 222 and 185.
Gray finished as the seventh overall bowler at 562 with games of 208, 198 and
156. Rhodes bowled a 550 series with games of 154, 187 and 209. Keeney earned All-State honors as the 12th overall bowler with a 542 series consisting of games of 179, 160 and 203. Jimmy Tejcek added a
494 series with games of 193, 141 and 160. Kade Tarbet’s games of 166, 96 and 105 gave him a series of 367.
The state competition consists of the top five teams from the West conference and the top five from the East, as well as the top six individuals who were not members of qualifying teams.
Lakeside’s girls placed sixth with a total pin count of 2,854. Only several pins separated them from third place.
Hannah Irwin was Lakeside’s only ladies bowler to earn All-State honors. She placed ninth overall with a 489 series consisting of games of 161, 143 and 185.
Melissa Perrigo bowled a 421 series with games of 153, 120 and 148. Anna Rose Nagy bowled games of 131, 128 and 107 for a 366 series. Destiny Phillips finished at
365 with games of 122, 101 and 163. Bree Green bowled a 318 series with games of
100, 127 and 91.
