This Celtic women-style concert boasts a fine array of professional artistry that features the music of flutist Adrienne Inglis and Irish harpist Shana Norton, both of Austin, Texas; pianists Kristen La Madrid and Elsen Portugal; drummer Paul Stivitts; three soprano vocalists, Deleen Davidson, Ruth’e Korelitz, and Katy Brockinton; Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts students; and members of the Muses Young Artist Program, Casey Williams, Milton Moreno, Lola Patrice, Roxy Collingwood and Rebecca Seewald. Lyrical dancers, Riley Madlock, Hannah Perry, Kodie Brown, and Camila Holden as ethereal “Celtic faeries” complete this extraordinary performance troupe.
Norton and Inglis, also known as Chaski, a virtuosic harp/flute duo, are staples of the Muses Celtic performance troupe and have garnered a devoted local following. Norton plays principal harp with the Mid-Texas Symphony, but her love of Celtic music was sparked when she took a trip to Scotland and learned from Scottish women how to play the harp entirely by ear, a news release said. Inglis plays a colorful collection of flutes from around the world. She also plays principal flute with the Round Rock Symphony Orchestra and the Texas Choral Consort, and has freelanced extensively as a performing and recording artist. She recorded on the “SpyKids 2,” “Kill Bill: Vol. 2,” and “The Children’s War” film soundtracks, playing as many as 12 different flutes.
Tickets are $35 and can be purchased online at http://www.themusesproject.org or by calling the Muses Project at 501-609-9811. All artists, students, and teachers are admitted for free; call the Muses to register.
