Walter O’Neal Stallings, 77, of Hot Springs, passed away May 21, 2018.

He was born April 18, 1941, in Osceloa, Ark., to Woodrow and Helen (Grady) Stallings. Walter proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps before serving in the Army Reserves for

22 years. After retiring from the Army, he worked with the Department of Defense for seven years. His civilian work included jobs at Lowe’s, Firestone and O’Reilly’s Auto Parts. Walter was a faithful Christian who has been a member of First Lutheran Church since

1975.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary; and brother, Charles.

Loving survivors include his wife, Lavetta Stallings; sons, Steven and Timothy Stallings; daughter, Sharon Wilfong; brother, Carl Stallings; sisters, Jeanette Thrasher and Edna Stone; grandchild­ren, Kourtney Stallings, Jessica Era, Jennifer and Christina Randazzo, and Christophe­r Wilfong; four great-grandchild­ren; and 11 beloved nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. today at CaruthHale Funeral Home.

A celebratio­n of his life will take place at 2 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jonathan Beyer officiatin­g. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearer­s will be Kenny Allen, Bill Sexton, Floyd Harvey, Tim Stallings, Eddie Vassau and Mike Roach.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Debbie Redic and the staff of Kindred Hospice for their special care of Walter.
