Roy B. Cox
Roy Broner Cox, 94, of Hot Springs, passed away on June 24,
2018. He was born April 5, 1924, in Shawmut, Ark., to the late Otis and Cora (Wright) Cox.
Roy was a retired electrical repairman and a World War II veteran. He was also a member and a Deacon of Southwest Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Kenneth Cox; grandson, Derek Jester; brother, Bernis Cox; and sisters, Imogene Mardis, Joy Cox and Helen Cox.
He is survived by his wife of
72 years, Charlene Cox; daughters, Linda Jester (Jim), of North Little Rock and Jeannie Goforth, of Sherwood; grandsons, Jonathan Brizendine, of Mayflower and Jason Cox, of Hot Springs; granddaughters, Cynthia Jester and Suzanne Brizendine, of Sherwood; four great-grandsons; one great-great grandson; two greatgreat granddaughters; sisters, Jessie Bransum, of Poteau, Okla., and Virginia Pike (John), of Tyler, Texas; brother, Basel Cox (Helen), of Murfreesboro; and sister-in-law, Patsy Bennett, of Nashville, Ark.
A visitation will be held in the Chapel of Gross Funeral Home from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 27, with funeral service starting at 11 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at Crestview Cemetery. Online guestbook and obituary are available at http://www.

Jimmie L. C. Jones
Jimmie Lois Caton Jones went to be with our Lord and her husband of 67 years, Gilford Merle Jones, on Friday, June 22, 2018. Born the youngest of five children to the late James Addison Caton and Myrtle Birtie Harvey Caton on July 2, 1927, in Lonoke, Ark., she was predeceased by her siblings, Luey Caton (Bevie), Chester Caton, Emmie Hurst (Davis), and Birtie Lee York (Edward), and grandson, Caton Jones.
As a child she attended Gardner School and later Lakeside High School where she excelled in basketball. She helped the team win many trophies and was scouted by the Red Heads Women’s Basketball Team. In 1965 she was instrumental in establishing Lakeside Booster Club.
Jimmie was employed at Lake Catherine Footwear for many years. She was listed in the “Arkansas Book of Who’s Who” for being the first woman to hold a man’s position in manufacturing as Lasting Department Foreman.
Her hobbies included fishing, bowling, quilting, knitting and genealogy. She loved finding relatives. Jimmie became quite the genealogist and was instrumental in helping to maintain the Melting Pot Genealogical Society.
Over the years she was a member of the Central Lanes Bowling League, VFW Women’s Auxiliary, Morning Star Cemetery Association, United Daughters of the Confederacy and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Her accomplishments were the beautification of the Confederate Memorial Park and being bestowed with the title of Honorary Division President UDC for life. She also compiled publications of family lineage, Morning Star Cemetery, and Garland County Obituary books which are now in the LDS Library in Utah.
She leaves behind her loving family, Stephen Jones, of Norman, Ark., Michael Jones (Jenifer), Martha Koon (Stephen) and David Jones, of Hot Springs; 18 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; as well as a huge extended family.
The family wishes to thank Jimmie’s caregivers over the years and the wonderful staff of Arkansas Hospice during her final days.
Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday followed by a memorial service at 10 a.m. at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
Internment will be at the Morning Star Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jonathan Koon, Matthew Jones, Christopher M. Jones, Christian Knapp, Colt Beard and Dallas Fetterhoff.
Honorary pallbearers will be Richie Hurst, Alan Moody, Derek Doucet and Christopher W. Jones.

Johnny “Roger” Ledbetter, 84, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away Friday, June 22, 2018.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Gross Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Crestview Memorial Park.

DONALDSON – Charles Barrett Sandage, 96, of Donaldson, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2018.

Beolia Williford
Beolia Williford, 94, of Hot Springs, died June 25, 2018. She was born in Jacksonville to the late Dallas and Belle Pruett.
She is also predeceased by her husband, Z.D. Williford.
Survivors include children, Larry Williford, Diane Steele, Joseph Williford, and Sue Cranson; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
