Mary P.W. August

Mary Pauline (Wilson) August, age 82, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed away Monday, July 16, 2018.

She was born Oct. 15, 1935, in Star City, Ark., to the late James Robert Wilson and Nellie Grace (White) Wilson.

Mary’s passion and delight was giving of her time and talents to others through gardening, crafting, cooking and her Lakeside EHC community service group. She will be forever remembered by her loving family and dear friends. Mary’s energy and enthusiasm for life will always be an inspiratio­n.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Ronda (Steve), Dana (Brad); grandchild­ren, Julia, Leanna, Matthew, Audrey, Linnea, Aidan; great-granddaugh­ter; Evelyn; sisters; Etta, Emma Lee, Mildred; and brothers, Howard and Earl Wayne.

Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Bob; and sister, Jean.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Garvan Woodland Gardens in memory of Mary August.

Steve V. Breshears

Steve V. Breshears, 67, of Hot Springs, went to be with his Lord July 17, 2018.

He was born on Oct. 19, 1950, in Hot Springs, to Vernon and Ervinlene Breshears.

Steve was a heavy equipment operator and loved and was loved by many.

Steve is predecease­d by his father, Vernon Breshears; brother, Sammy Breshears; and sister, Patricia Shupe.

He is survived by his wife, Marsha Breshears; brothers, Donnie and Ronnie Joe Breshears; sisters, Brenda Ragsdale (Bobby), Carolynn DePaoli, Darlene Bodi (George); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearer­s are Andrew Breshears, Chris Bodi, Michael Ragsdale, and Michael, Ricky and Roger Hood. Honorary pallbearer is Tony Breshears.

Visitation will be held in the chapel of Gross Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. today.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at McGill Cemetery with Brother Doug Adams officiatin­g.

Aaron Cooper

Aaron Cooper, 27, passed away in March 2018 in California.

Carl “Chief” Cranford, age 80, of Hot Springs, died Monday, July 16, 2018.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. today, July 20, 2018, in the River of Life Church with the Rev. Lance Arguello and Rev. Benjamin Wiles officiatin­g.

Mary A. Franzmeier

Mary Ann Franzmeier, age

96, of Hot Springs, formerly of Fayettevil­le, died Monday, July 16, 2018.

She was born on Oct. 18,

1921, in Mount Pleasant, Texas, the daughter of Willie Green and Alma Miller Green. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Elmer Albert Franzmeier; her parents; one brother, Weldon Green; and one sister, Myra Hambley.

Mary was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fayettevil­le and a homemaker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmothe­r and great-grandmothe­r, and she was active in Wyman Community activities.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Andrea Franzmeier, of Fayettevil­le; her daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Tommy Trantham, of Royal; five grandchild­ren, Angie Trantham, Wendy and Shane Harris, Terri Trantham, Jeremy and Shannon Bright and Suzanne and Donny Kindt; seven great-grandchild­ren, Whit Janske, Alexi Alan Janske, Jonah Bright, Wylyn Harris, Charter Harris, Cooper Kindt and Porter Kindt; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

A celebratio­n of her life will be held at a later date.

Delores W. French

MOUNTAIN PINE — Delores Wright French, age 73, of Mountain Pine, died Wednesday, July 18, 2018.

She was born on Aug. 13, 1944, in Richmond, Calif., the daughter of Ernest Albert Wright and Ruby Stella Fendley Wright. On Feb. 21, 1959, she married Truman French. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Tyler French; three great-grandchild­ren, Coleston French, Cadence French and Marcel Paris; her parents; and three brothers, Delmer Wright, Ernest Wright and Ed Wright.

Delores was a member of Cedar Glades Baptist Church and a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Truman French, of Mountain Pine; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Wesley and Tabia French and Jerry French, all of Mountain Pine; two daughters and one son-in-law, Renae French, of Hot Springs Village, and Tammy and Robert Hughes, of Royal; 15 grandchild­ren;

18 great-grandchild­ren; her sister and brother-in-law, Flo and Mel Oliver, of Bedford, Ind.; her best loving friend, Rita Godwin, of Mountain Pine; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful friends.

Services will be held at

10 a.m. Saturday in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home chapel, Hot Springs, with Brother Kevin McDaniel officiatin­g.

Interment will be in Hughes Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today.

Mildred D.D. Gillespie

Mildred Delores Delaine “Dee Dee” Gillespie, age 52, of Hot Springs, died Monday, July 16, 2018.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Willie Mae Banks; and one brother.

Dee Dee, as she was known by most, was a graduate of Ferriday High School in Ferriday, La., and an honor graduate of National Park Community College. She was a member of Living Waters Church of God In Christ. She loved helping others.

Survivors include her sons, Anthony “Biggs” Gillespie and Andrew Gillespie; three grandchild­ren, Ta’laizya, Kyran and Gabrielle Gillespie; 11 siblings; her god daughter, Victoria Ann Hunter; special friend, Bridgette Dooley Tollette; a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, July 20, 2018, at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the visitation.
