Karen Yvonne Chase, age

69, of Hot Springs, passed away Monday, July 23, 2018.

She was born on Nov. 1,

1948, in Hot Springs, the daughter of Charles Elmer Chase and Olive Marie Weatherford Chase. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, David Chase; and one sister, Linda Caruthers.

Karen was a Baptist in faith. A renaissance woman in many ways, she had an aesthetic eye, always crafting and decorating. Her holiday decor was unmatched and celebrated by visitors to her home. She loved beautiful landscapes, scenery and spending time outdoors. Karen will be remembered as a strong, generous, compassionate woman. But of all her passions and interests, her legacy will be that of an amazing mother and grandmother who always placed family first.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shawna Wardrope and husband Neil, of Edinburgh, Scotland; her grandson, Cooper Wardrope; brother and sister-in-law, Terry Chase and wife Sonya; sister and brother-in-law, Kathy Gilbert and husband Larry; sister, Charlotte Tigue; sister-in-law, Sandi Chase; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
