Solomon James Willis, 88, of Hot Springs, Ark., was born on Feb. 25, 1930, in Stamps, Ark., to the late Willie and Mary Scott Willis. He passed away on Tuesday, July 17, 2018.

Mr. Willis was preceded in death by his aforementi­oned parents; wife, Ida Pearl Willis; siblings: Willie Mae Easter, Elijah Buddy Willis and Alex Bo Willis; children: Shirley Ann Johnson, Maola Johnson, Elnora Johnson and Jimmy Laran Willis.

Mr. Willis leaves sweet memories with his four daughters: Clara Ann Clemon, of Oakland, Calif., Tina Willis, Mary Ann Willis and Pamela Willis, all of Hot Springs; four sons: Dennis Willis (Beverly), of Arkadelphi­a, Ark., Curtis Willis, Donald Willis (Christy) and Jerry Willis, all of Hot Springs; his caregiver and special friend, Rosetta Lacefield, of Hot Springs; two special cousins: James Willis, of Magnolia, Ark., and Robert Davis, of Hot Springs; and a special nephew: James Willis; two special nieces: Louise Johnson (Ernest) and Vera Mae Wilhite, all of Hot Springs; 38 grandchild­ren, numerous great-grandchild­ren, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A public visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Gospel Mission COGIC, 1107 Spring St., Hot Springs. A celebratio­n of life service will immediatel­y follow at 1 p.m., with Pastor Elder Danny Turner serving as eulogist. Interment will be at Crestview Memorial Park Cemetery in Hot Springs.
