James Rogers McClure, age

78, of Hot Springs, Ark., passed on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, at his home.

He was born on Aug. 9,

1940, to Mr. and Mrs. Robert McClure and Clara Macon McClure. He was a devoted member of Mount Friendship Baptist Church in Curtis, Ark., and was a retired machine operator for Union Carbide in Hot Springs, Ark., for 30-plus years. Those gone on before him include: his parents; three brothers, Joe McClure, Robert Louis McClure and Charles McClure; one sister, Ollie Vera Martin; and one son, Dennis Osborne.

Survivors include: his wife, Virginia JoAnn McClure, of Hot Springs, Ark.; one son, Gregory (Toni) Osborne, of Hot Springs, Ark.; one daughter, Vicki (Samuel) Gladney, of Little Rock, Ark.; two brothers, Ferman (Ellie) McClure, of Curtis, Ark., and Willie McClure, of Flint, Mich.; three sisters, Rose Norman, of Little Rock, Ark., Mattie Bailey, of Curtis, Ark., and June Lee, of Flint, Mich.; six grandchild­ren; seven great-grandchild­ren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services are under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home in Arkadelphi­a, Ark.

Public visitation will be from

11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21,

2018, at Mitchell Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Haven United Methodist Church of Hot Springs, Ark., where the Rev. Chester R. Jones is pastor, from 6-7 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Sept. 22, 2018, at Mount Friendship Baptist Church. Interment will be at Curtis Cemetery in Curtis, Ark.
