Bismarck junior girls win Meadow Dash
BISMARCK — Bismarck’s junior high girls’ cross country team won the Bismarck Meadow Dash Saturday with Ember Hughes leading the team across the finish line.
Hughes crossed the line in 15:49 for third overall, while teammate Kelsey Davis followed three seconds later for fourth. Norah Kopkau crossed the line ninth in 17:23, Lauryn Ventress was 10th with a time of 17:49 and Erin Fendley was 12th with a time of 18:00.
Ella Campbell (18:43), Jenna Payne (18:58), Emily Stanich (19:27) and Akia Booker (20:38) rounded out the team.
Jessieville’s Julia Rogers, the team’s only junior girl at the meet, was the first finisher with a time of 14:20 with Centerpoint’s Marlee Bright finishing second at 15:33. Katie Clinton was seventh for Centerpoint with a time of 17:08, Lauren Spears crossed the line in 18:41 for
13th overall. Kambry Staggs (20:54) and Natalie Jester (21:37) rounded out the team.
Magnet Cove’s Bliss Reynolds clocked a 19:24 finish for 16th.
In the senior girls’ race, Ouachita’s Tessa Kuykendall clocked the
5K in 22:21 for the top finish. Magnet Cove won the senior girls’ race, led by Kaitlyn Fletcher in third place overall with a time of 23:26. Zoee Rednour clocked a 24:57, Marissa Brodnex finished in 25:35, Karson Davis crossed the line in
27:21 and Hailey Rimmer rounded out the team’s scoring with a 29:19 finish. Tori Johnson (29.23), Emma Golden (29:31), Kaitlyn Farr (31:09), Jamie Kelley (31:54), Kassidy Gray
(32:22) and Kailyn Harville (36:05) rounded out the team.
Jessieville’s Katherine Elliott was seventh overall with a time of 24:39 as the only Lady Lion in the field.
