AMITY — Charles P. “Slim” Wilson, age 73, of Amity, passed away Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018.

He was born Jan. 21, 1945, in Hot Springs, the son of Dewey Preston Wilson and Charlene Conine Wilson. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Chantz Wilson, and his parents.

He was a math teacher and coach for Kirby School District, a farmer, and businessma­n, owning and operating over the years Wilson Dairy Farm, Wilson Dairy Parlor, and Wilson Transport. He served as Justice of the Peace of Pike County and was a Mason, Shriner and Jester, all of which he was always so proud to be a part of. He enjoyed shooting pool and going to the horse races, but Slim will be most remembered by his optimistic personalit­y and his constant happy smile.

He is survived by his son, Chuck Wilson and his girlfriend, Angie Bennett, of Amity; his granddaugh­ter, Aspen Wilson, of Arkadelphi­a; his great-granddaugh­ter, Avery Hooks; his sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne and John Taylor, of Amity; the mother of his son, June Wilson Harter, of Hot Springs; two nieces, Jalyn Hopper and Jacynda Smith; and numerous extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood.

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Tuesday prior to the services.
