OBU extends win streak to 6 matches

ADA, Okla. — Ouachita Baptist’s volleyball team took care of business over the weekend by winning all six sets in road matches against East Central in Ada, Okla., and Southeaste­rn Oklahoma State in Durant, Okla.

Ouachita (17-6, 6-3 Great American Conference) only hit a combined .189 as a team on Saturday, but the defense held strong in a 25-23, 2522, 25-23 victory against East Central (0-21, 0-9). The hosts committed 22 errors in the match.

Katie Camp led the visitors with 17 kills. Tabatha Huckabee was the only other Ouachita player with double-digit kills. Middle blocker Adrianna Nolly finished with eight kills and a team-high six blocks.

Stormi Leonard recorded her eighth double-double of the season with 38 assists and 13 digs. Libero Julianna Mack made a team-high

16 digs. Shannon Hogan added another 11 digs in the match.

The Tigers hit .303 on Friday in a 25-23, 2519, 25-20 victory at Southeaste­rn (6-15, 2-7). The Savage Storm committed 24 errors in the loss.

Leonard registered at least 30 assists for the

12th consecutiv­e contest and Mack tied for the team-lead with nine digs. Nolly hit a team-high nine kills, Huckabee hit eight and made four blocks, and Emily Low added six kills and four blocks.

Ouachita hit .280 or better in every set and only committed seven errors. The six straight wins have the Tigers tied for the third-best record in the GAC.

The Tigers will be back at home Friday for a conference match against Northweste­rn Oklahoma State (15-9, 4-3) before hosting Southweste­rn Oklahoma State (15-4, 8-1) on Saturday.
