In addition to the city’s Earth Angel curbside collection, a recycling drop-off center is also located at the corner of Valley and Runyon. Newspaper, corrugated cardboard, phone books, aluminum cans, plastics (grades one and two), glass (jars and bottles), and sorted office paper (white office paper, colored paper, junk mail, magazines, catalogs, etc.) are accepted. To participat­e in the Earth Angel program, call 501-321-6911.

Last week the Earth Angels of Hot Springs recycled:

• 124 pounds – Aluminum cans.

• 3,522 pounds – Newspaper.

• 700 pounds – Corrugated cardboard.

• 475 pounds – Plastic No. 1 and No. 2.

• 42,700 pounds – Yard waste.

Commercial cardboard recycling:

• 72,900 pounds – Commercial cardboard.

A total of 60.21 tons of recyclable materials were kept out of the landfill.
