Theo Hawks

Theo Hawks, age 83, of Hot Springs, lovingly and peacefully passed away Nov. 24, 2018. Born Feb. 14, 1935, in Hollis, Ark., but moved to the McKenzie River, Ore., as a young boy.

He was in the timber industry for 45 years. During those years he was called into the service not once, but twice where he served as a supply sergeant for the Army.

He married the love of this life on Jan. 5, 1959, Helen Gossage, and they were getting ready to celebrate 60 years together. The loss of this extraordinary man will forever leave a hole in our hearts.

Preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Mamie Hawks; brothers, Adrian, Jack, and twin brother, Cleo. Sisters include Bevie and Hodie. Also preceded in death is his beloved grandson, Christopher.

Theo is survived by his loving wife, Helen; two children, Craig Hawks (Robyn) of Eugene, Ore., and Missy Maxey (Rick) of Tyler, Texas; five grandchildren include Devin, Christian, Greyson, Nikkole; and 2 great-grandchildren, Cyrus and Scarlet. Surviving siblings include brother, Doyle Hawks (Beverly) of Eugene, Ore., and sister, Lorene Hudspeth, of Marysville, Calif. Also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of Theo’s life will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Caruth Village Funeral Home.
