Flute Ensemble sets Christmas concerts
The Hot Springs Flute Ensemble, under the direction of Carlos Feller, will present a series of free community Christmas concerts, themed “Colors of Christmas,” in the coming week.
The ensemble will perform at 3 p.m. Sunday at West Shores Retirement Center as part of their open house.
A repeat performance will be at Anthony Chapel at Garvan Woodland Gardens at 6:30 p.m. Monday.
The final concerts will be Saturday, Dec. 15, at 1:15 p.m. at Country Club Village and 3 p.m. in the lobby of the Arlington Resort Hotel & Spa.
Programming includes the “Sleighbell Serenade,” “The Colors of Christmas,” “Blue Christmas,” “White Christmas,” “Evening Snowfall,” “Little Drummer Boy,” “Walking in the Air” from “The Snowman,” “Holiday Fantasy,” “Angels and Bells,” and “We Need a Little Christmas.”
Members performing are Lynn Clardy and Donna Toler, on piccolos and C flutes, C flutists Payton Teague, Marcia Gilmore, Debbie Reed, Priscilla Wacaster, Robin Williams, Patience Bookout, Leoni Bermejo, Janet Moore, Deonne Carson, Janis Hopper, Regenia Bettis, Linda Rountree, Makayla Lovell, and Hal Thompson, also playing bassoon.
Alto flutists are Sara Ferril, Ann Smedley, Steve Bonner, Kathy Skinner and Leah Kuhn Venable.
Bass flutists are Jackie Flowers, Beverly Hegwood, Ronald Johnson and Rhonda Hall. Contrabass flutists are Aishani Singh, Sarah-Marie Linneman and Jaree Hall.
While the concerts are free, donations to the group are welcome.
