Health insurance enrollment event Saturday
The Arkansas Health Insurance Marketplace will host an event at First Network Insurance, 1018 Airport Road, Suite
126, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, and elsewhere around the state, to provide one-on-one assistance to consumers who wish to enroll in the state’s My Arkansas Insurance Individual Marketplace.
The open enrollment deadline is Dec. 15.
Agents and brokers will be on hand at locations throughout the state to assist consumers and answer questions. They can also help people enroll in the Marketplace for receiving health insurance coverage, AHIM said in a news release.
Consumers must have the following information to enroll:
• Information on how taxes are filed (single, married or head of household).
• Expected household income for the following year.
• Information for all persons who will be insured including address, Social Security numbers, and work and income information.
• Current health insurance information, including carrier and policy number.
• Legal immigrants must have documentation.
The program provides health insurance plans for individuals who do not have access to employer-provided insurance and will use the federal enrollment platform on Healthcare.gov.
Each available plan provides comprehensive benefits with no restrictions for pre-existing conditions and no lifetime limits. Also included are standard health care benefits such as inpatient care, outpatient services, prescription drugs and preventive care and screenings.
Assistance is also available through the AHIM HelpLine at 844-355-3262.
AHIM was created to manage and implement a state-based health insurance exchange in Arkansas in accordance with state and federal law. AHIM was established by the Legislature in 2013 and is a nonprofit public benefit corporation. My Arkansas Insurance is the state-based exchange established and managed by AHIM.
AHIM is governed by the Arkansas Health Insurance Marketplace’s board of directors. The AHIM Board reports to the Arkansas Health Insurance Marketplace Legislative Oversight Committee.
