VFW Post sponsors gift exchange Sunday

Post 2278 of Veterans of Foreign Wars of Hot Springs is sponsoring an exchange of gifts, sometimes referred to as a “dirty” Santa exercise, at 1 p.m. Sunday at Rumors Bar and Grill, located in the Village Boardwalk, 3812 Central Ave.

The event is open to the public “to celebrate Christmas with fun and laughter by mixing with others.” Anyone bringing a wrapped gift (a non-gag gift) worth $10 will leave with a gift of similar value, drawn at random, a release said.

Attendees are also asked to bring an appetizer to share.

WCA Workforce committee to meet

The One Stop Committee of the West Central Arkansas Workforce Development Board will meet at 2 p.m. Monday at the West Central Arkansas Planning & Development District offices at 1000 Central Ave.

Public transit comments deadline set for Dec. 15

Hot Springs Intracity Transit is proposing 2019 service enhancements on regular fixed route buses and paratransit, including extended service hours.

A description of the proposed service enhancements, as well as a public comment sheet, are available online at
