Doris J. Roper

Doris J. Roper, 85, of Hot Springs, passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2019. She was born Oct. 18, 1933, in Smiley, Texas, to the late Audley and Lillian Spellman. She attended Harvey’s Chapel.

She was predeceased by her parents; son, Kenneth Roper; sister, Wanda Hendrick; and two grandchildren, Jonathan Roper and David Brookshire.

Survivors include her children, Grady (Marsha) Roper and David (Dian) Roper; brother, Leonard Spellman; grandchildren, Christina Pennington, Heath Brookshire and Scott Brookshire; great-grandson, Jacob Pennington; and many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, in Spellman Cemetery in DeWitt County, Texas.
