Evening Lions Bingo ends year with a $750 roar
HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — Maureen Rousseau won the Coverall Jackpot of $750 at the Dec. 28, 2018, Evening Lions Bingo Game.
Rousseau and her husband, David, moved to the Village five years ago from Fort Myers, Fla. She is a very talented artist who is in Village Art Club and Brush Strokes, and has been playing bingo for at least three years, a news release said.
Rousseau also celebrated winning second place in the Fun Hat Contest. Along with the money and her other prize, she also got a Coverall T-shirt, which she can wear to get a free drink at the concession stand.
Prior to the start of Bingo session, Nola Abraham and Leanne Cunningham of the Hot Springs Village Quilts of Valor honored Robert Palis with a handmade quilt.
Palis, 97, is a regular at Evening Lions Bingo. He is one of less than 650 World War II submarine veterans still alive. He served on the USS Rock
(SS/SSR/AGSS-274), a Gato class submarine and the USS Icefish USS Icefish (SS-367), a Balao class submarine.
