CHI St. Vin­cent or­tho­pe­dic pro­gram re­ceives JC’s Gold Seal of Ap­proval

The CHI St. Vin­cent Hot Springs To­tal Joint Re­place­ment Pro­gram has of­fi­cially earned The Joint Com­mis­sion’s Gold Seal of Ap­proval for Ad­vanced Cer­ti­fi­ca­tion for To­tal Hip and To­tal Knee Re­place­ment, mak­ing it the first or­ga­ni­za­tion in Hot Springs to earn that cer­ti­fi­ca­tion, a news re­lease said.

The ad­vanced cer­ti­fi­ca­tion rec­og­nizes the ef­forts made by CHI St. Vin­cent Hot Springs’ Or­tho­pe­dic Ser­vice Line to con­tin­u­ally el­e­vate the qual­ity, con­sis­tency and safety of their ser­vices and pa­tient care, the re­lease said.

“At CHI St. Vin­cent Hot Springs, we are com­mit­ted to pa­tient-cen­tered care in the safest and most ef­fi­cient man­ner pos­si­ble,” said Dr. Dou­glas Ross, chief med­i­cal of­fi­cer at CHI St. Vin­cent. “We’re hon­ored to see that on­go­ing min­istry re­flected in this cer­ti­fi­ca­tion and look for­ward to con­sis­tently im­prov­ing qual­ity of care for the in­creas­ing num­ber of pa­tients un­der­go­ing to­tal hip or to­tal knee re­place­ment surgery in south­west Arkansas.”

The Joint Re­place­ment Pro­gram at CHI St. Vin­cent Hot Springs un­der­went a rig­or­ous on-site re­view to eval­u­ate com­pli­ance with ad­vanced dis­ease-spe­cific care stan­dards and to­tal hip and to­tal knee re­place­ment re­quire­ments, in­clud­ing or­tho­pe­dic con­sul­ta­tion and pre­op­er­a­tive, in­tra­op­er­a­tive and post-sur­gi­cal or­tho­pe­dic sur­geon fol­low-up care. The ad­vanced cer­ti­fi­ca­tion from The Joint Com­mis­sion, one of the premier health care qual­ity im­prove­ment and ac­cred­it­ing bod­ies in the na­tion, is awarded for a two-year pe­riod, the re­lease said.
