Whitfield Garden Club to meet Tuesday

Whitfield Garden Club will meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Huntleigh Woods Club House.

Hostesses will be Peggy Hale and Jenny LaForte. The program will be “Iris Flower Design.”

Village Card Club offers Defense Class 2019

The Village Card Club will offer a four-week Defense Class taught by Tony

Gunn, an ACBL accredited teacher, for $7 per person per class, April 9, 16,

23 and 30 from

9-11 a.m.

These classes will give a better understand­ing and use of the basic defense skills for novice and intermedia­te level duplicate and rubber bridge players. A detailed handout will be provided for all material discussed and hands played. Each lesson will consist of roughly one hour of discussion and one hour of hand play to reinforce the lessons points. Come to all or any Tuesday morning class with or without a partner.

Lesson 1 is “Better second and third hand play” and Lesson 2-3-4 is “Better use of attitude, count and suit preference signals.”

Altrusa Internatio­nal of HSV celebrates birthday

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — Altrusa Internatio­nal of Hot Springs Village Inc. will celebrate the local club’s 15th birthday on April 4 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
