Hot Springs Toastmasters to meet Saturday at NPMC
Hot Springs Toastmasters will hold its regular weekly club meeting at 8 a.m. Saturday at National Park Medical Center, 1910 Malvern Ave. This is the first meeting of the new program year.
The club anticipates being awarded the President’s Distinguished Club status, once the year’s activities tallies are finalized. Year-end Distinguished Club Program reports, including district reports, are not finalized by Toastmasters International until late in July.
However, the club’s listing is already flagged with a “President’s Distinguished” logo. This is the first time this club has reached this level, the highest club recognition available, in three years. District 43 is also flagged for President’s Distinguished status.
All former Toastmasters, as well as interested guests, are welcome. Meetings normally are one hour long. The meetings are held in the east wing of the hospital. Enter from under the portico on that end of the campus.
Toastmasters is a supportive, inexpensive way to learn speaking and leadership skills. Training resources for speechmaking are part of Toastmaster support available to members. Toastmasters International’s materials and programs also offer leadership development. New members are offered a mentor when they join. Meeting roles rotate from one week to the next.

Hurting Moms Support Group meets
HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The Hurting Moms Support Group, which offers support for mothers of children who are making destructive decisions, disengaging from their family, and disrespecting the values they have been taught, meets the first Saturday of every month at 10:15 a.m. in the loft of
Village Bible Church, 100 Ponderosa Way.
The HMSG is designed to be a safe place where moms can come together to share with one another while they work through a process that will bring them freedom and healing from their pain, a news release said.
