Benton man arrested in death wife

BENTON — Police in Benton says a central Arkansas man has been arrested in connection with the death of his wife.

Saline County Jail records indicate that 28-year-old Nicholas Fernow was arrested Saturday on a first-degree murder complaint and was being held without bond Sunday. The records do not indicate if he is represented by an attorney.

Benton Police spokesman Krista Petty says Fernow is accused in the death of his wife,

28-year-old Minnie Fernow. The victim died from “traumatic injuries” but Petty did not specify the exact cause of death.

Police found Minne Fernow’s body at a residence in Benton after they responded to a 911 call requesting a welfare check about

2 a.m. Saturday. Petty says investigators spent several hours at the scene gathering evidence and attempting to reach relatives.
