Paul Wilson Logan, 65, of Hot Springs, passed away on Oct. 11, 2019. He was born to the late Wilford and Peggy Logan of Heber Springs on May 1, 1955.

Paul attended Heber Springs High School, where he was a multisport athlete and scholar student. Majoring in history, he graduated from Hendrix College in 1976, but not before wedding his wife of 44 years, Brenda Logan, on May 29, 1975. After a pursuing a successful career in radio broadcasti­ng, his passion for education led him to Ouachita Baptist University for his Masters in English in

1989. He found his true calling as a high school educator at Hot Springs High School, where his unique classroom manner and engaging personalit­y made him a favorite among student and colleagues alike for over

25 years. During his tenure at Hot Springs High, he was instrument­al in institutin­g the world-renowned Internatio­nal Baccalaure­ate program as well as incorporat­ing soccer into the high school athletics program. He also coached tennis and was well known for playing key roles in the school’s drama production­s as well as serving as the voice of the Trojans, the football PA Announcer.

Paul’s dedication to teaching was only outmatched by his dedication to family. He was highly engaged in all of his three sons’ extracurri­cular activities and was regularly seen coaching or serving as a referee in youth soccer matches or baseball games. Adding to his love of sports, he was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and would often play tennis at Kimery Park. Later in life, he loved eagle watching trips with his wife, spending countless hours pursuing his love of photograph­y, and spending time with his beloved grandchild­ren.

Paul is survived by his wife, Brenda; his three sons, Nik, Clint and Daniel; and five grandchild­ren, Alfredo, Aurelia, Daniella, Delilah and Steven. He also leaves behind numerous loving friends; former students; and relatives.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, followed by an informal reception at Gross Funeral Home –
