ARTS, ETC.: Flute Ensemble to present free concerts
The Hot Springs Flute Ensemble, under the direction of Carlos Feller, will present a series of Christmas concerts in December, all free and open to the public. Donations toward their Endowment fund are welcome.
The concerts include:
• 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, West Shores Retirement Center, 2607 Albert Pike.
• 5:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 9, Anthony Chapel at Garvan Woodland Gardens, 530 Arkridge Road.
• 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, Faith Lutheran Church in Hot Springs Village, 1196 DeSoto Blvd.
The season will end with two concerts on Dec. 21 — 1 p.m. at Country Club Village, 1925 Malvern Ave. and 3 p.m. in the lobby of the Arlington Resort and Spa.
The music will feature “The Night Before Christmas” narrated by Robin Williams, accompanied by the ensemble. Other numbers include the “African Noel,” “Let it Snow,” “Winter Wonderland”
and other holiday favorites.
Players include Piccolos and C flutes, Lynn Clardy and Donna Toler; C flutes, Regenia Bettis, Debbie Reed, Priscilla Wacaster, Robin Williams, Leoni Bermejo, Kathy Stevens, Hal Thompson, Harriet Reynolds, Janet Moore, Deonne Carson, Janis Hopper, Julian Herring Youth Scholars Aishani Singh and Phoebe Carnie, Marilyn Coffman, Cheryl Goslee and Sarah Marie Linneman; Alto flutists, Sara Ferril, Ann Smedley, Steve Bonner and Leah Kuhn Venable; Bass flutists, Jackie Flowers, Beverly Hegwood, Rhonda Hall, and Ronald Johnson; Contra Bass flutists Kathy and John Skinner; and Percussionists Madison Rawls and Jonathan Miles. this The season ensemble playing chamber for several groups luncheons are also busy for Sigma Alpha Iota fundraisers — Friday, Dec. 6, at Diamante Country Club in Hot Springs Village and Tuesday, Dec. 10, at Hot Springs Country Club. They will also play at the Faith Lutheran Ladies’ Luncheon at DeSoto Club in Hot Springs Village on Saturday Dec. 7.
