Muses Project to present 14th Annual ‘Voices of Angels’ Christmas concert
The Muses Project will usher in the joy and peace of the Christmas season with its 14th annual Voices of Angels sacred classical Christmas concert.
Performances will be Friday, Dec. 13, at 6 p.m. in the Muses Cultural Arts Center, 428 Orange St.; Saturday, Dec. 14, at 7 p.m. at Woodlands Auditorium in Hot Springs Village, and Sunday, Dec. 15, at 3 p.m. at Anthony Chapel in Garvan Woodland Gardens.
On Sunday, Dec. 1, The Muses Project makes its northwest Arkansas debut at the Crystal Bridges Museum of Art in Bentonville, presenting Voices of Angels to a sold-out audience.
“The Muses staff and troupe are deeply grateful for such an enthusiastic welcome,” a news release said.
“For many years, Hot Springs audiences have made attending the Voices of Angels concert part of their Christmas family tradition. This high-quality program of sacred Christmas selections from various lands, times, and traditions, by composers such as Vivaldi, Britten and Rutter, features four lead professional female ‘angel’ voices; lyric soprano Anna Montgomery from Denver and regional professionals, mezzo-soprano Erica Shoelkopft, sopranos Ruth’e Korelitz and Katy Yerina Brockinton,” the release said.
They are joined by 20 performers: a voiced mixed chorus, lyrical dancers, and highly skilled instrumentalists — pianist Kristen LaMadrid, Steve Suter on trombone and flutist Kristin Grant.
“Designed by Muses Artistic Director Deleen Davidson, Voices of Angels takes listeners through 400 years of poetic and musical inspiration. From festive to meditative, traditional to contemporary, each selection was chosen for its musical value and narrative power that artistically expresses the beauty, hope, and wonder of Christmas,” the release said.
Tickets are $35 and can be purchased online at http://www.themusesproject.org or by calling the Muses at 501-609-9811.
“Leave behind the typical stress and hectic pace of the holidays and experience the Spirit of the season in song, word and dance, with the Muses Voices of Angels sacred classical Christmas concert,” the release said.
